Carburizing (and nitrocarburizing) is performed in a shaft furnace comprising a muffle of 8 mm thickness. Carburizator - liquid hydrocarbons (kerosene, etc.), or carburizing gas (endogas). Using triethanolamine can be carried liquid carbonitriding. Consumption of carburizers per 1 m² of the surface on average is 0.35 ... 0.4 m³/h for the gaseous 0.1 ... 0.12 l/h and liquid (kerosene, syntin, pirobenzol, white spirit). Electric furnace system is equipped with automatic temperature control on the basis of microprocessor controller and solid-state non-contact switch, lined with modern microporous fiber and energy-saving materials. On the cover of the furnace circulation fan is installed with a diffuser. The shaft, fan impeller and diffuser are made of heat-resistant steel. The cover has connections with plugs to accommodate a thermocouple control and the specimen. There is also a system of controlled supply of kerosene and gas supply cementation, or ammonia. The heating elements are made of nichrome.
